Résumé
Les Opérations de Soutien à la Paix (OSP) déployées en Afrique souffrent d’une crise de la communication traduite par un usage marginal de l’information et de la communication stratégique comme outils de pacification. Face à un recours de plus en plus belliciste et préjudiciable à l’information et à la communication rendu possible par la libéralisation et la vulgarisation des moyens de communication, le besoin se fait sentir de procéder à une adaptation des concepts de communication mobilisées dans le cadre des OSP en Afrique. En mobilisant les concepts de la théorie constructiviste, le présent article se propose, de mettre en lumière les avantages tant potentiels que réels d’un usage stratégique de la communication dans les processus de paix déployés en Afrique.

Rethinking communication in peace support operations in Africa
Abstract
Peace Support Operations (PSO) deployed in Africa are suffering from a communication crisis resulting in the marginal use of information and strategic communication as peacemaking tools. Faced with an increasingly belligerent and detrimental use of information and communication made possible by the liberalization and popularization of communication media, there is a need to adapt the communication concepts used in PSOs in Africa. By mobilizing the concepts of constructivist theory, this article aims to highlight the potential and real benefits of strategic use of communication in peace processes deployed in Africa.
