Résumé
Cet article analyse la production de la désinformation générée par intelligence artificielle (IA) au Burkina Faso, en particulier les contenus de type deepfake. Par le biais de l’argumentation dans le discours, nous avons examiné comment les deepfakes, qui sont des contenus générés par IA, constituent au Burkina Faso une nouvelle arme informationnelle participant à la fabrique d’opinions et comment ils sont déconstruits par Fasocheck. Le corpus comprend quatre articles de fact-checking publiés par Fasocheck. En adoptant une approche discursive pour analyser la pratique médiatique de Fasocheck, cet article relève, en outre, que la désinformation par l’IA ne constitue pas seulement une manipulation technique, mais bien une arme cognitive et politique.

AI and disinformation in Burkina Faso: argumentative strategies of fabrication and deconstruction of AI-generated fake news
Abstract
This article analyzes the production of disinformation generated by artificial intelligence (AI) in Burkina Faso, particularly deepfake content. Through the argumentation in speech, we examined how deepfakes, which are AI-generated content, constitute a new informational weapon in Burkina Faso by participating in the creation of opinions, and how they are deconstructed by Fasocheck. The corpus includes four fact-checking articles published by Fasocheck. By adopting a discursive approach to analyze Fasocheck's media practices, this article demonstrates also that AI-driven disinformation is not just a technical manipulation, but also a cognitive and political weapon.
